New AI training and funding program launches to help businesses understand and adopt AI

In just five weeks, businesses learn to automate tasks, save time, and unlock up to $20,000 in funding

The Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC) is excited to announce a new training and funding program that supports small businesses across Northwestern Ontario to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations. The Building Blueprints for AI Adoption (BBAA) program offers entrepreneurs comprehensive and hands-on training, personalized coaching, and access to up to $20,000 in funding to help automate tasks, streamline workflows, and confidently implement AI tools.

Many business owners in our region face the challenge of managing daily operations alongside marketing and customer service, leaving little time to explore new technologies. The BBAA program addresses this by providing short, focused workshops and one-on-one mentorship that make AI approachable and immediately applicable.

“People often tell me there’s not enough time in a day to do everything and that’s the advantages that AI brings, a way to automate tasks to allow you and your team to focus on the important components of your business that make it successful” said James Ellard, senior business advisor of marketing and branding at NOIC.

The program is structured workshop series around five key topics delivered through a mix of in-person and online workshops, followed by personalized support.

This program kicks off by a comprehensive five-session AI Workshop and Training Series designed to help businesses uncover opportunities, build confidence, and plan for AI integration, valued at $5,000 for only $150! Participants will get an introduction to AI and learn how it can make an impact across their business. They’ll explore how to write smarter with AI and design marketing campaigns with engaging visuals and SEO-friendly content. They will also learn how to sell more effectively using chatbots, CRM tools, and AI-powered customer replies that enhance sales and service.

In addition, the series will cover how to streamline operations by automating administrative tasks, managing files, and organizing meeting notes to boost efficiency. By the end, participants will use these hands-on sessions to create a practical AI adoption plan tailored to their business. With a completed AI adoption plan, businesses can then apply for up to $20,000 in funding to help implement their plan and make their operations more efficient and effective.

To apply, businesses start by booking a free BBAA consultation. For more details and eligibility, visit Building Blueprints for AI Adoption – Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre. The workshop series begins Feb. 10, 2026.
